Website Revamp and Resource Development
Early in my role as a Career Peer Advisor at NEIU’s Career Development Office, I noticed that many student resources were outdated, hard to find, or didn’t exist at all. Seeing an opportunity to improve accessibility and engagement, I took the initiative to revamp the office’s website and resources to better support students’ career development.
I redesigned the resume template and created clear, easy-to-understand explanations for key concepts like the elevator pitch. I added new sections, including a monthly featured internship list and an embedded calendar built on Drupal that syncs automatically with the office’s Google Calendar. I also rewrote and reorganized almost all website content to make it visually appealing, logically structured, and easy for students to navigate. Finally, I added new pages, including the “Success Stories” page to highlight the office’s amazing work with students and alumni.
This project allowed me to apply strategic planning, project coordination, and user-focused design to create a centralized, modern, and highly functional online platform. The updated website now streamlines access to resources, boosts student engagement, and empowers students to take actionable steps toward career readiness, reflecting the office’s commitment to student success.
Below are a few of many examples of new templates or resources I’ve created:
